The Lab

Our laboratory focuses on resolving the atomic structures Transforming Growth Factor Beta molecules and many of their regulatory mechanisms. Generating structural data for proteins allows us to understand the natural mechanisms and how these might be disrupted in human disease; an understanding which can translate to targeted therapeutics in the service of human health. The primary technique of the lab is X-ray crystallography, but we are currently diversifying to include cryo-electron microscopy in our workflow. Additionally, the lab utilizes several biophysical techniques and biological assays to support and confirm our structural findings. As a busy and productive lab, we enjoy many established vital collaborations with other preeminent academic and industrial laboratories within our shared areas of research interest.
